Man held for killing pet dog in Hyderabad

A man was arrested on Saturday for killing his sister's pet Pomeranian dog here at Lalapet in the city.

Getting into the details, the dog barked at the accused Nagaraju when he reached his sister's home in an inebriated state. Fumed over it, Nagaraju pressed down on animal's neck with his foot and strangled it to death. Nagaraju's sister Swapna said that her brother killed the dog while his wife Rama Devi encouraged him to do so.

Shocked over his brother's move, Swapna approached Osmania University police who arrested Nagarjuna under section 428 and 429 of IPC and prevented of the cruelty of Animals Act.

The police shifted the carcass of the dog to the government veterinary hospital for autopsy.
