The Jubilee Hills police took a man into custody for allegedly mowing down a stray dog on Monday here at Road no.2 in Banjara Hills.
MD Abdul Nayeem (24) hit the dog accidentally when he was proceeding towards Jubilee Hills checkpost from KBR park. The animal was dead on the spot.
A volunteer from Compassionate Society for Animals has noticed the incident and chased Nayeem car and handed over to the police.
The police registered a criminal case against Nayeem under IPC section 429, section 11(1)(A)(L) and under the prevention of cruelity animal act.
