Medak: The Met department on Tuesday warned of thunderstorms with lightening likely to occur on March 5 at isolated places over North Telangana.

The forecast said while dry weather was very likely to prevail on March 4, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are forecast on March 5, 6 and 7. No large change during the period March 8-10 is the weather outlook.

The rain is being caused by an upper air cyclonic circulation now lying over the north-west Madhya Pradesh and its neighbourhood and the North ­South trough from the cyclonic circulation over the south-west MP and its neighbourhood.

The department bulletin said rain occurred at isolated places in the State during the last 24 hours, ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday. The highest day temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Khammam. The lowest night temperature of 15 degrees Celsius was registered in Medak.

The other night temperatures in the State were: Nalgonda (16.8), Hakimpet (18.9), Hanamkonda (19.5), Dundigal & Khammam (20.2) each, Ramagundam (20.8), Mahbubnagar (21.5), Adilabad & Hyderabad (21.7) each, Nizamabad (22.1) and Bhadrachalam (22.5).

According to the bulletin, mainly low-level southerlies/south- westerlies (winds) prevail over the State.

The bulletin listed the day temperatures as: Adilabad (35), Badrachalam & Mahbubnagar (34.5) each, Nizamabad (34.4), Hyderabad (33.6), Ramagundam (33.4), Hakimpet (33.1), Dundigal (32.8), Hanmakonda (32), Medak (31.6) and Nalgonda (31).
