Vikarabad: District-level Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) will play a key role in implementing Election Commission guidelines, said District Collector Masrat Khanam Aisha.

She inaugurated media centre following directions of EC at collectorate here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Aisha advised all the representatives of political parties to take prior permission from MCMC before issuing advertisements in newspapers and electronic media.

Necessary action will be taken against people who failed to take prior permission from MCMC before issuing advertisement to electronic media as per directions of EC, said the Collector.

She said they appointed an IT expert in MCMC committee to check fake messages in social media.

DRDA PD Johnson, Vikarabad RDO Vishwanatham, members of MCMC, youth welfare officer Hanumantha Rao, DPRO Venkatesham, committee members Vaidyanath and others were present.
