Police swing into action after students stage protest
Nalgonda: On complaint of victim girls, district SP AV Ranganath registered a case against MG University's Engineering college vice- principal Punith Kumar and took him into custody on charge of sexually harassing girl students.
Earlier in the day, engineering students had staged protest at the engineering college demanding immediate arrest of the vice principal who, as they alleged, had sexually harassed many girl students. Addressing the gathering, leaders of various students organisations stated that even though the matter of Punith Kumar brought to the notice of officials concerned but no action was taken against him. The girl students of the college said that they do not have any faith in the three-men committee constituted by the university to probe into the matter of Punith Kumar.
Finally, police swung into action and arrested the engineering college vice principal into custody and investigating.
