Kothagudem: The workers engaged in NREGS works in an agriculture field in the district have found sheets of mica in a field owned by Vanka Ramu at Mylaram village in the district on Wednesday.

The workers when digging the earth for the construction of farm pond have found sheets of transparent material.

Wondered at the findings, the labourers alerted the land owner who in turn alerted the local officials. The material was said to be used as an insulator in electric gadgets.

The sources informed that the variety of mica found in the agriculture field was called muscovite mica and has commercial value if the size was bigger. The department of mining officials are yet to visit the place.
