Nalgonda: Congress slams TRS for winning Nereducherla civic chief posts through evil means

District Congress Committee president Kethavath Shankar Naik stated that ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has stabbed the democracy in municipal elections.
Miryalaguda (Nalgonda): District Congress Committee president Kethavath Shankar Naik stated that ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi has stabbed the democracy in municipal elections.
Addressing the media at his party office in Miryalaguda on Wednesday, the Congress leader alleged that the State Election Commission ignoring its neutral role had acted as pink party's agent during the elections to Urban Local Bodies. "TRS due to fear of defeat harassed Congress candidates with the help of police," he alleged.
He questioned the State government over deputing 1,200 police personnel during the election of chairperson and vice-chairperson to Nereducherla municipality. Even though TRS won the majority municipalities in the State through backdoor methods, moral victory goes to Congress.
He suggested Congress councillors to get ready to expose the mistakes and irregularities of the municipal council from time to time in the interest of town's development.
He asserted that TRS insulted BCs, SCs, STs and minorities by giving both chairman and vice–chairman posts to OCs. It is high time to unite all Congress leaders to strengthen the party in Nalgonda district in order to wrest power in the State in 2024. Party senior leader CH Krishnaiah and local leaders attended the press meet.
