To examine fluoride in groundwater, the drilling was done at Thummalabavi village of Narketpally mandal in Nalgonda district on Saturday.

Narketpally(Nalgonda): To examine fluoride in groundwater, the drilling was done at Thummalabavi village of Narketpally mandal in Nalgonda district on Saturday.

The drilling site was inaugurated by CH Venkateshwar Rao Deputy Director General and Head of the department, Geological Survey of India, southern region.

The objective of the drilling is to study Geo-environmental appraisal with special reference to fluoride contamination in groundwater and also to know the depth variation of the fluoride from place to place. Bedrock sampling can also be studied the minerals which contribute the fluoride in the groundwater.

The site of the bore well selected based on the values received from the groundwater and studying after surrounding geology. In this programme, Director BP Rawat, Nagpal, drilling engineer and project Geoscientists Dr. Ramesh Guguloth, Satish Chavan and Chemist Vamshi Krishna were present.
