Nirmal: As part of friendly policing, Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju on Tuesday distributed blankets to the tribal people of Gondiguda and Kolamguda hamlets in Nirmal district.

Addressing the villagers, SP Shashidhar Raju said that they had distributed about 500 blankets to the poor tribals in view of the extreme cold weather in the district. He said the police have been working 24X7 in villages, towns and cities for the safety and security of the people.

Blue Colts and Petro car teams have been launched. Police kept a strict vigil on the movement of criminals and tightened security to avoid any untoward incidents. The SP requested the villagers to install CCTV surveillance cameras to fasten investigation in crime cases. He asked them to dial 100 or call to the nearby police station for help in case of emergency.

Additional Superintendent of Police Srinivas Rao, DSP Upendar Reddy, Khanapur Inspector Jairam Naik, Khanapur SI Bhavani Sen and others were present on the occasion.

'Clear pending cases'

Every police officer in the district should have awareness of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS), said Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju while addressing an annual crime meeting at district police office in Nirmal on Tuesday.

The SP strictly told the cops not to keep pending cases in online and directed them to solve all the cases in a fast way by utilising technological knowledge in crime investigation. 5S system should be implemented in every police station, he added.

The SP also inquired about the cases and told the staff to maintain cleanliness in and around the police station. The police officers were told to conduct review meetings with vertical constables and to clear their doubts and give suggestions in solving pending cases. The SP ordered the police personnel to solve all pending cases, to recover property of robbery cases, to develop information sources as much as they can, to control illegal transportation of ganja gutka etc and to encourage people towards installing CCTV surveillance cameras in their areas.
