Nizamabad: Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) district president CH Kalpana demanded that RTC, the public transport service, must be merged with the government immediately. On Tuesday, PDSU, SFI and AISF student organisations staged a dharna in front of the RTC bus depot in Nizamabad.

The members of these student organisations further demanded the government withdrawal of extension of leaves of all educational institutions; and initiation of talks with the leaders of RTC unions and stop the strike.

Kalpana warned the government not to conspire to sabotage the RTC employees' strike. Demanding the government immediate merger of the RTC with the government, Kalpana warned the government that various students unions will support the RTC employees and will fight against the government.

SFI district president, secretaries Anil and Suri, AISF district secretary Raghuram, PDSU district leaders Prashanth, Pratyusha, Saikrishna, Ashur and Mahesh, Suman, Saiteja, Ranjith, Venugopal, Ramesh, Naveen, Vishal and others participated in the dharna.
