Mahbubnagar: Slamming the State and the Central governments for their "anti-people" policies, the Congress party leaders from across the erstwhile Mahbubnagar took out protest rallies and later tried to lay siege to the Collectorates on Friday.

The Congress party leaders from Mahbubnagar, Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet districts took out rallies and staged protests in front of the district collectorates and demanded both the State and Central governments mend their ways and fulfill all the promises they made to the people.

In Mahbubnagar, the Congress leaders led by Vamshi Chand Reddy, former Kalwakurthy MLA, took out a rally and later staged a protest on Collectorate premises.

Addressing the party men, Reddy said both K Chandrashekar Rao in the State and Narendra Modi at the Centre are cheaters and came to power by making false promises to the people.

"Both KCR and Modi have cheated the people and have no moral right to rule the State and the country. Congress party ruled the country from 2004-2014 and achieved a GDP rate of 8 percent. However, after Modi government came to power, the country's GDP has drastically fallen to just 3 per cent and this is because of wrong economic policies implemented by the Central government," said Vamshi Chand Reddy.

Adding further, he said the Centre's decision of note ban and Goods and Services Tax have completely ruined the nation's economy. "KCR is equally a culprit in these two policy decisions as he had fully supported to Centre's move," he said, adding that Modi had promised to create 2 crore jobs every year.

However, in contrast, the youth have lost 90 lakh jobs under his regime. "KCR had turned Telangana into a debt-ridden State. Today, the State government has a debt of Rs 2.50 lakh crore, which means there is a debt of Rs 1 lakh on the head of every child in the State."

The Congress leader said that no section in Telangana was happy with the State government. "The RTC employees, the Revenue employees, the student organisations, SC, STs and general public are fed up with the dictatorial rule of KCR," he said, adding that very soon the people would definitely teach both KCR and Modi a befitting lesson for their wrong policies.

"The Congress party is demanding both these government at least now to mend their ways and provide corrupt-free governance and fulfil all the promises they made to the public during elections," Vamsi Chand Reddy said.

Congress leaders Sampat Kumar in Gadwal, Chinna Reddy in Wanaparthy and other party senior leaders in Nagarkurnool and Narayanpet took part in the protests and tried to lay siege to the district collectorates in their respective districts.
