Khammam: An NRI from USA, I Ravi, has donated Rs 38 lakh towards Annadanam scheme to be organised in Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam.
On Friday, he transferred Rs 38 lakh through online to the temple account. He asked the temple officials to utilise the amount for nithya annadanam scheme on his father Dalaiah's name.
confirming the donation, temple EO Narsimhulu said they gave the receipt for the donation amount to donor Ravi's friend V Srinivasa Raju, who lives in Bhadrachalam.
The temple officials had stopped annadanam scheme for the past few days due to the lockdown but keeping beggars and migrant labourers' problems in view, they are providing about 400 food packets per day from annadana satram.
