Speaking at a training programme held for presiding officers and assistant presiding officers in Khammam on Thursday, the Collector advised the officials to conduct the poll process in a smooth way as they had conducted Assembly and Zilla Parishad polls sans any untoward incidents.
He informed that municipal elections would be conducted through ballet paper system and every officer should know the polling process. The municipal elections would be conducted for Wyra, Madhira and Sathypally municipalities in the district, informed the Collector.
Stating that every official should attend the training classes compulsorily, the Collector added that presiding officer and assistant presiding officers should play a key role in the election conducting process.
Adding that polling officers must open and close the ballet boxes in the presence of party agents, Karnan said municipal commissioners should visit every polling station under their limits and make arrangements for polling.
Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Priyanka also explained the process of polling to the officers. A power point presentation was given by the trainers K Sri Ram, Sailendra Kumar, Narasimha Rao, Satyanarayana and Seshagiri.
Khammam, Wyra, Sathupally and Madhira municipal commissioners J Srinivas Rao, Ramchander, CH Venkanna and M Devendhar respectively and presiding officers and assistant presiding officers attended the programme.
