Officials turn blind eye to illegal water business
People of the region are facing acute water shortage in the recent scorching summer.
Kohir: People of the region are facing acute water shortage in the recent scorching summer. The depleting ground water levels did not fetch a potful of water for them. The situation turned gloom and now people in towns and surrounding villages are facing water scarcity.
The concerned officials are failing to supply sufficient water. In a situation, where every single drop of water is very important, some people from Digwal village in Kohir mandal are making lakhs by selling water. Surprisingly, the officials are not at all bothered at this illegal business and leaving the water tankers freely.
Locals criticize that even though; some tankers are caught but they are let off free by allegedly taking bribes. When contacted tahsildar Saidulu regarding this, he said that he will enquire into the matter. People are requesting officials to take action on the persons and supply water for them.
