Hyderabad: Two days after a constable succumbed to coronavirus in Hyderabad, another policeman working at Balapur police station has tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. According to the officials, the additional inspector, Sudheer Krishna was suffering from fever and was on sick leave from Wednesday.

He is also said to have had a cough for about five days and attended the duty too. However, he later complained of high fever and has gone for a medical checkup. The doctors tested him and the reports that arrived today turned positive. He was immediately shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.

Sudheer Krishna's family members were also quarantined. Meanwhile, the police have traced all the primary contacts of the police and conducted tests. The officials and constables who contacted the infected person were asked to be in quarantine.

The policemen were asked to take precautionary measures such as wearing masks, using sanitizers and maintaining physical distance.

On Wednesday, a constable working at Kuslumpura police station died after being infected with the coronavirus. He is learned to have contracted the virus during the lockdown duty at a check post near Purnapul junction. He is survived by a wife and three children and all of them have been tested negative for coronavirus.
