People are forced to pay heavy after Covid-19 pandemic take over the State and county

Nalgonda: People are forced to pay heavy after Covid-19 pandemic take over the State and county. The burden is more on the parents in the district, who have more than one child. This is because, all private schools, allegedly for their own existence, started conducting online classes to their students and giving assignments also. The problem arose when the school managements are asking the parents to provide smart phone one each to their children as classes of all subjects and standards will be taken at the same time. Following the queue, government schools also started online classes. And this competition between corporate and government schools is pushing poor and middleclass parents into troubles and forcing them to buy smart phones by taking loans. More children, more financial burden on the parents.

It should be noted here that all schools across the State were closed since March 24 due to lockdown and students are staying at home.

Internet connection, computers, laptops, smart phones etc are needed for taking online classes. Depending on the speed, internet service providers are charging Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 per month and a one-time payment of Rs 1,200 towards router for Wi-Fi services. Another problem with online classes is internet signals, video and audio quality. In some areas, network will be poor and students are suffering a lot.

Auto mechanic Upender poured out his problems with The Hans India that he has two children – Moushami and Sai Krishna studying fifth and second classes respectively at a private school in Nalgonda. "I had to buy two smart phones for them. Online classes are a burden to people like him, who lost livelihood during lockdown," he lamented. Even play schools offering nursery, LKG and UKG are not sparing the poor parents and sending messages to them to pay admission fee to enroll their wards for online classes that would begin within a couple of days.
