While the victory in three Parliamentary constituencies has revived hopes of rank and file of Congress
Hyderabad: While the victory in three Parliamentary constituencies has revived hopes of rank and file of Congress, it also placed a big responsibility of strengthening and achieving victory for the party in the next Assembly elections on the shoulders of these senior party leaders.
The winning trio, PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president A Revanth Reddy and senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has the responsibility of the taking the party to victory in the State in the next Assembly polls, to be held in 2023.
The entire Telangana Congress is looking towards them to deliver what they wanted from the party, party leaders said. The rank and file of the party have pinned hopes on the three seniors, they said.
The Congress which lost all the hopes after the humiliating defeat in the Assembly elections of 2018 was now brimming with hope on winning the next Assembly elections as TRS suffered defeats in the Parliament elections.
PCC official spokesperson Nizamuddin told The Hans India that the three Congress MPs are highly experienced politicians and their victory has sent a positive message to the cadre and supporters of the Congress.
He said that by winning polls in adverse conditions, they have proved that the Congress party has entered in revival stage in Telangana.
The Congress party lost Chevella, Adilabad and Zahirabad Parliamentary constituencies narrowly. The party has shown strong signs of revival in over 50 Assembly segments. Their victory augurs well for the party's win in the next polls.
Several other leaders have also shared similar opinions. They said that the three leaders are committed and also popular among the people. With good oratory skills they would be the crowd pullers for the party.
However, a senior leader of the party said that the three leaders have to build movements in the State in the next four years to expose the hollowness of the ruling party. They must undertake tours in the State to instill confidence among the cadres.
The leader pointed out that in the past five years the party failed to humble the ruling party as it did not build a good movement on the issues being faced by the people. The Congress also failed to fight for the implementation of the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act.
The party failed in Assembly and also in Lok Sabha in exposing the failures of the TRS in the past five years. The party last one of the two MPs of the previous Lok Sabha and the lone Congress MP from the State was unable to perform due to various reasons.
Now the three MPs have a good opportunity to fight against the TRS in the Lok Sabha and they should use it judiciously.
