Khammam: High alert has been sounded in the district in the wake of two new corona virus-positive cases at Nelakondapalli and Madhira town. People are panicked with increasing cases in the district.

People who were at ease that there were no positive cases in the district got shocked and living in the grip of fear. People are suspecting each other when they go out of their homes as in many cases there are no symptoms of cold and cough.

One person who is a son of a sexagenarian who died with Covid -19 positive on Friday, tested positive on Saturday, and he was shifted to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. Officials confirmed that the person moved with his father as a reason he is also got corona positive. The administration got alerted and took many precautions at in Madhira town.

Officials have sprayed chemicals at victims residing apartment and also ensured apartment residents should not come out and talking to others. Officials advised the apartment people to observe home quarantine.

Another positive case reported in Nelakondapalli mandal headquarters. One hardware shop owner tested positive. According to information, he would visit Suryapet regularly for business purpose. He was shifted to Gandhi Hospital.

Meanwhile, officials have shifted about 16 persons who have primary contact with positive persons. Officials have declared containment zone where Covid patients are residing. Sarpanch R Naveen Kumar took up sanitation works in the village. People observed bandh in Nelakondapalli on Saturday.
