Warangal: Assistant Professor in Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal, (KITSW), Y Manjusree has been awarded Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph D) by Acharya Nagarjuna University for her thesis on "Wavelet-based Multi-terminal Transmission Line Protection in Presence of Renewable Energy and Facts Device." She carried out her research work under the guidance of Prof Ravikumar, Acharya Nagarjuna University, under Faculty of Engineering and technology, according to KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy.

Manjusree's research work focused on experimentation on hybrid energy sources. According to the research findings, it revealed that implementation in a computational routine of algorithms for fault detection and discrimination of a multiterminal transmission line compensated with SVC. The wavelet detailed coefficient-based classification algorithm provides automatic detection and discrimination of fault type and compensation by SVC is provided. The reliability of wavelet analysis for fault classification of shunt faults multiterminal transmission line fed from sources and hybrid energy sources like wind and PV system at all the terminals is presented.

Prof Ashoka Reddy said that Manjusree's research work is directly linked with engineering & technology with respect to renewable energy. The KITSW Management, HOD EEE and Dean Academics Prof C Venkatesh, Prof V Ramaiah and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary were among others who congratulated her on the occasion.
