Karimnagar: BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday condemned the police actions during the funeral procession of RTC driver N Babu on Friday. Babu had died of heart attack on Wednesday(October 30) and his last rites were performed at Arrepally village of Karimnagar on Friday.

Addressing the media persons at R&B guest house in Karimnagar, MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that the police official who came in civil dress behaved like rowdies and beat the leaders of BJP and other political parties.

"The police officials held my shirt collar and dragged me from the place even though we were participating in the procession peacefully." he said. Bandi Sanjay alleged that the officials are following the instructions given from Chief Minister Office.

What the DGP is doing when an MP is harassed by police, he questioned, and added that he is not going to leave the police officials who attacked him and is going to introduce a privilege motion in Parliament against them.

The police harassed the family members of Babu and RTC JAC leaders and arrested 60 JAC members. N Babu served for more than 23 years as a driver in the RTC. With that affection, the family members wished that his final procession should be held from the place where he worked, that is from Karimnagar bus depot-II. But with the over action of police personnel their wish was not fulfilled, he said.

The BJP will continue its agitation in support of the RTC employees in a democratic and peaceful manner until their demands are fulfilled, he added. He also urged the managements of the private educational institutions not to force the RTC employees' children to pay the fees and asked them to either exempt the fees or give certain time until the strike ends.

The BJP district president Basa Sathyanaryana, former Mayor Shankar, Bethi Mahendar Reddy, Kotte Murali, T Srinivas, A Prakash and Sujatha Reddy and others were present.
