Hyderabad: TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar Saturday said the political developments in Maharashtra proved that the ruling BJP at the Centre was the most immoral party in the country.

In a statement here, Ponnam said the saffron party should win hearts of the people but not grab power. Stating that Congress never said it would come to power in Maharashtra, Ponnam said party supremo Sonia Gandhi always maintained that they would sit in the Opposition.

Prabhakar clarified that the Congress had only held discussions with its ally Nationalist Congress party but never craved for power. Prabhakar said the Maharashtra episode was unconstitutional and undemocratic and a classic example of dark politics.

He alleged that politics was played by Raj Bhavan, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Prime Minister's Office. He also ridiculed BJP Telangana State president Laxman for stating that his party would dislodge TRS government in a surgical strike as well.

He asked Laxman not to forget that his party secured only 2,000 votes in the Huzurnagar Assembly by-election.
