Nizamabad: PDSU district president Jannarapu Rajeshwar alleged that the government had allotted less funds to the promotion of private universities in Telangana in its budget. PDSU leaders burnt an effigy of the government in front of Nizamabad Telangana University hostel here on Wednesday.

Rajeshwar criticised that the government had allotted only Rs 23 crore to the Telangana universities and demanded allocation of 30 per cent funds by the Kothari Commission. He questioned, 'Is it possible to provide KG to PG free education with 0.77% funding?' He also demanded recruitment of teaching staff in all universities across the State.

PDSU leaders Satish, Venkatesh, Imran, Chandu, Karthik, Murali, Abhilash, Anil and others participated in the protest.
