Hyderabad: Bonalu festivities entered the second day at Ujjaini Mahankali Temple, Secunderabad with the traditional "Rangam" on Monday.

Standing on an earthen pot (Pacchi Kunda) at the temple, Swarnalatha, the oracle, invoked the Goddess and performed the Rangam. She said the state will witness abundant rainfall in near future.

She answered a number of questions posed by the devotees and promised all-round development.

The oracle said the people have celebrated the festival in grandeur and the Goddess is content. There will be bountiful of rains in the coming months and people in the state need not worry, Swarnalatha said.

The oracle also said the deity was satisfied with the arrangements made for the festivities and she would bless the people with happiness and prosperity.

Replying to a volley of questions, she said there will be abundant rainfall in coming days and agriculture production will also increase.

After the Rangam, the portrait of the Goddess was taken out in a procession in the streets on a caparisoned elephant. In the evening a "Palaharapu bandla" (prasadam cart) procession was taken out from different areas to the temple as part of the festivities.
