According to officials, the water level of the reservoir stands at 508 feet against full tank level of 590 feet. Water level reached 2 feet below the dead storage level and power generation at the hydle project is completely stalled.

The project provides irrigation facility to 21 lakh acres of land and drinking water to 610 fluoride-hit villages. The water level in the reservoir will rise if it rains heavily at upper stream and catchment areas of Almatti , Jurala, Tungabadra and Srisailam projects .

Ayacut farmers of Sagar left canal who are in despair have been praying the God for heavy rains in order to fill the Sagar reservoir at full tank level to get water for two crops.
