Khammam: A day after her defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, Congress firebrand leader and party Khammam MP candidate Renuka Chowdhury stated that disloyal party members have played a major role in her defeat and although, she was defeated, she won the elections on moral grounds.

Addressing the media at party office, Sanjeev Reddy Bhavan, in Khammam on Friday, Renuka said that she succeeded on moral grounds by securing around 4 lakh votes without distributing any money or doing any favour in return of votes. She said that it was immoral of politicians to bribe people into voting and warned voters that such candidates would only work to earn money after victory.

Stating that CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka should take all accountability for this failure, she said Congress activists have worked honestly than the MLAs in Parliament elections.

On this occasion, she congratulated Nama Nageswara Rao for his victory and urged him to take the responsibility of completing the pending development projects in Khammam Parliamentary constituency.
