RTC strike will topple KCR government: Julakanti Ranga Reddy
Hanamkonda: Communist Party of India (Marxist) State executive member and former MLA Julakanti Ranga Reddy said that the ongoing TSRTC employees' strike that entered 31st day would soon topple the TRS government led by K Chandrashekar Rao.
Reddy, who turned to Ekasila Park where the RTC employees' protest entered 31st day on Monday, said that the day is not far away for KCR to dismiss himself due to the impact of strike. "KCR's governance is much like that of despotic Nizam rulers. KCR is playing with the lives of 50,000 RTC employees. The way he (KCR) was belittling the RTC staff's stir is unpardonable," he said.
Referring to KCR's ultimatum to RTC employees to join the duties by November 5, Julakanti said that it was nothing but intimidation. The way KCR talks is like that RTC is his private limited company, he added. He said that how can KCR, who didn't even resolve a single issue of the 26 demands put forward by the employees, ask the staff to join the duties? The CPM leader demanded the State government to take the responsibility for the losses incurred by the RTC and also demanded the government to take the responsibility of the 22 RTC workers, who died since the strike began on October 5.
Later, the employees voluntarily took an oath to continue their strike until their demands are met with. Stating that CPM would stand by the RTC employees, he told them not to yield to the pressure exerted by the government until their justifiable demands are fulfilled. Senior CPM leaders Vanguri Ramulu, Dharma naik, G Prabhakar Reddy, Ragula Ramesh, M Kumaraswamy, Godugu Venkat, U Nageshwar Rao, D Tirupathi, K Lingaiah, V Sarangapani, M Sampath, RTC district co-convener Muralikrishna, RTC JAC leaders Yadagiri, GS Pani and Ramana were among others present.
