South Central Railway conducted a meeting with Members of Parliament Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy (Bhongir), Badugula Lingaiah Yadav (Rajya Sabha) at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Friday.

Hyderabad: South Central Railway conducted a meeting with Members of Parliament Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy (Bhongir), Badugula Lingaiah Yadav (Rajya Sabha) at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Friday.

SCR General Manager Gajanan Mallya welcomed the MPs and detailed them on performance and achievements of South Central Railway. He also briefed the MPs on various initiatives being taken up by the Zone towards the green environment, water conservation, security and safety, etc., He also briefed them on the progress of infrastructure facilities and improvement of the passenger amenities over the Zone. He said that conversion of conventional trains with LHB coaches is being taken up in a big war for providing safe and comfortable rail journey.

The Members of Parliament complemented the initiative of SCR in convening the meeting. During the course of the meeting, the Members of Parliament raised several issues related to developmental works/services in their respective constituencies. The demands raised by the MPs included the stoppage of trains at Raigir station for the convenience of passengers visiting Yadadri. Introduction of MMTS train service to Yadadri and also proposed for the renaming of Raigir Station as Yadadri. They gave proposals for new lines, the introduction of new trains, an extension of existing train services, additional stoppages to existing trains, construction of road over Bridges / Road Under Bridges, Foot Over Bridges and providing improved passenger amenities etc at railway stations in the jurisdiction of their constituencies.

South Central Railway's Principal Heads of Departments, Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Guntakal & Guntur Divisions attended the meeting.
