Sewage overflow triggers traffic chaos

Many commuters have complained that the drain over here has been brimming up for the past several days and situation has worsened over the days.
Whenever vehicles pass through Y junction at a speed, the dirty drain water splashes on the pedestrians, said M Arun, a commuter.
As it is a major road connecting to all parts of the city, higher officials and various overseas delegates ply on this road, who are left with a bad image of the city.
GHMC officials have turned to several complaints on the issue, but they act promptly whenever a political meeting is scheduled nearby, the road and encroachment is cleared in no time for the event.
As sewage water is overflowing at the side of the road it is becoming risky for pedestrians and motorists to cross the road with chances of skidding and getting injured.
