Vikarabad: Disproving the apprehension among public that police are unfriendly and behave harshly with people, a Sub-Inspector Vittal Reddy has won accolades from public for his friendly policing as well as his singing prowess.

SI of Yalala police station in Vikarabad district was patrolling Agganur village as part of his duty on Tuesday night. During patrolling he reached the local Hanuman temple where some devotees were singing bhajans. Some devotees expressed their uneasiness at the presence of a police official at the religious congregation.

Having heard them, the SI assured them that he has no intention of disturbing them but expressed wish to participate in bhajans. When the devotees consented to his requested, he started singing devotional bhajans while playing harmonium.

People were mesmerised with his singing prowess and thanked him for participating in the programme. He participated in the programme for half-an-hour. Villagers expressed happiness at the friendly manner in which police official mingled with them.
