Nizamabad: District Collector M Rammohan Rao and Jal Shakti Abhiyan CEO and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Nikunj Kishore Sundaray called on the students to campaign for water conservation. The duo made a whirlwind tour on Wednesday and visited several villages including Armoor, Ankapur, Mortad and Timmapur mandals. Collector MRM Rao said students should mobilise people for water conservation in the same way as they did for achieving separate Telangana State. The students have the power to manoeuvre every individual into water conservation, he observed. Trying to awaken the energy of the students, Rao said students should become water policy makers.

Jal Shakti CEO Kishore said taking care of nature is like contributing to water conservation. Nikunj Kishore Sundaray advised the villagers of Thimmapur to reduce plastic usage.

Both the Collector and Jal Shakti CEO took part in a rally along with the students in Ankapur to educate villagers on water conservation. Later they planted saplings on the premises of Government School in Thimmapur as part of Haritha Haram.
