Mancherial: Task Force and special branch police on Monday seized substandard cotton seeds worth Rs 2 lakhs and 20 litres of glyphosate pesticide and arrested two persons.

Following the orders of Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana, special branch police and Task force raided the house of Konakanchi Murali Krishna in Tandur mandal of Mancherial district.

According to police sources, the accused Konakanchi Murali Krishna, resident of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh and Mandu Mallikarjun, resident of Nadikudi of Guntur district have been selling substandard cotton seeds secretly to farmers in this area for the past three years.

Special branch and task force in-charge Inspector Satish, Task force Sub-Inspector Sammaiah, task force staff Bhaskar Goud, Venkatesh, Shyam Sunder, Omkar and others participated in the raid.
