Hyderabad: Amid coronavirus scare, the budget session of the Telangana Assembly adjourned sine die on Monday, four days ahead of the schedule.

The budget session that commenced on March 6 was to be held till March 20. But following the alert issued by the Centre and near shutdown in most of the states, it was decided to adjourn the Assembly on Monday.

Before winding up of the session, the state Legislature unanimously approved the Appropriation Bill of 2020-21 by voice vote. The Bill was introduced in the House by Finance Minister T Harish Rao.

Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka (Congress), Akbaruddin Owaisi (MIM) spoke on behalf of their respective parties. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao briefed the House about his government's plans and objectives with Rs 1.82 lakh crore budget for 2020-21.

After approving the Bill, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy adjourned the House sine die. The budget session of the Assembly sat for 8 days discussing the budget proposals for 48 hours and 41 minutes.

Six Bills were introduced and passed while short discussions held on two subjects (Palle Pragathi and coronavirus). As many as 76 members made speeches during this session.
