Hyderabad: The Congress party on Saturday demanded action against Telangana Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi and other officials for alleged violation of Model Code of Conduct.

TPCC Election Commission Cordination Committee Convener G. Niranjan, in a letter to Cheif Election Commissioner Sunil Arora, complained that the Chief Secretary has released a 91 pages report on the State Government's initiatives and performance at the Secretariat, on April 5, just 5days before the elections, which is against the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). "The report titled "Towards Golden Telangana" contains information of all the important schemes launched by the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekar Rao. The report also contains snapshots along with relevant statistics, on all projects like Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Scheme, Welfare Schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Mission Bhagiratha, Industrial Initiatives, like TS IPASS as well as milestones achieved in various sectors like education, agriculture, power generation and women empowerment sector," he said.

Niranjan said that the report also comprises details on the institutions created by the State Government like T-Hub, TASK, T-Works and RICH. It contains history of Telangana, six decades agitation for separate Telangana, Nizam's Rule and agitation for achievement of Telangana State. The progress made from 2014-2015 to 2017-2018. The report also mentioned steps taken towards the achievements of Bangaru Telangana (Golden Telangana), after taking reigns by Chandrasekar Rao, as CM of Telangana, on June 2, 2014. The report also mentioned about the awards received by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekar Rao, ex-Minister K.Tarakamara Rao and other officials and departments, he said.

"We would like to submit that Dr. Joshi, Chief Secretary, Telangana, Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, IT Department & Director, Electronics Department Sujal Karampuri, deliberately released this report just five days before the elections to benefit the TRS party and this is against the violation of MCC. We request you to please take action against the above officials immediately for their partial behavior in favor of ruling TRS party and for exercising undue influence on voters," Niranjan demanded.
