The Telangana government has postponed the launch of registration of non-agriculture lands and properties through the newly launched Dharani portal

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has postponed the launch of registration of non-agriculture lands and properties through the newly launched Dharani portal. The property registrations are supposed to be started from November 23 in the State.

The CMO (Chief Minister Office) release said that in view of pending cases with regard to the registrations in the High Court, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao decided to put on the hold the registration process. Unless the cases are disposed, the government will not resume the registrations. Ahead of the launch of Dharani, the government stopped the property registrations on September 8 this year. As a result, the government already incurred a loss of more than Rs 1,000 crore due to stoppage of the property registrations in just two month period. Aiming to bring 100 per cent transparency in the land transactions and curb encroachments, the government has launched the Darani portal and commenced the registration of agricultural lands recently.

In the rural mandals, MROs (Mandal Revenue Officers) have been given authority to register agriculture and non-agriculture properties. In the urban areas, sub-registrars working in the stamps and registration department will look after the registration of non-agriculture properties.
