Nearly 1,260 passengers from corona-affected countries were allowed to go home from RGI Airport after submitting to officials that they would self- quarantine for two weeks at their respective homes

Hyderabad: The Telangana government, which initially decided to keep passengers with travel history to 11 affected countries under quarantine in various venues including national institutions on the outskirts, has decided to let go a majority of them on Friday.

Nearly 1260 passengers (asymptomatic) who were moved directly from Shamshabad airport to these various locations were told to give self-declaration forms agreeing to officials that they would self- quarantine for two weeks at their respective homes and then allowed to go home.

Their addresses have been collected and this data would be shared with each district heath wing for them to follow up on daily basis.

Clear instructions have been given to all those who wanted to go home to stay put in their residences for the two week period without fail.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Eatala Rajender stated that those who don't stay in big homes and wish to continue in isolation in government identified centres will be allowed to remain there until the 14-day quarantine period is over.
