Sets up Gaushala at Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has established a Gaushala on the Raj Bhavan premises on the occasion of her birthday on Tuesday.

The Governor couple along with the staff performed pooja in the presence of priests and offered fodder to the cows. The Gaushala, set up in the Raj Bhavan premises, has two cows, two calves and bulls.

According to the Governor's office, government authorities had provided the animals for the Gaushala. The idea behind setting up of the Gaushala was to encourage the village tradition where revenue is generated with dairy products. The Governor also took up a plantation drive by planting saplings of fruit-bearing plants in the Raj Bhavan. She later awarded prizes to children who excelled in the 'Connect Chancellor' campaign, which was initiated by her. It was an opportunity for University students to project their creativity in the form of articles, stories and poems on topics like role of print and electronic media during the Covid-19 pandemic.
