Hyderabad: Hearing a public interest litigation on Metro Rail fare, theHigh Court issued notices to Centre, Telangana government and concessioner HMR on Wednesday.

The PIL was filed by CPM Greater Hyderabad secretary M Srinivas Reddy that the Hyderabad Metro Rail charges are contrary to the contract. The petitioner alleged that contrary to the concession agreement for the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, the basic fare declared by it is unfair, unconstitutional. It urged the court to fix the fair of Metro Rail in accordance with Schedule Fare Notification under article/clause 27 1 r/w sub-clause 4 basic fares and pass. The High Court Bench issued notices to the Central and State governments, HRL and L&T to file a counter-petition in four weeks that the Hyderabad Metro Rail charges are contrary to the contract.

The next hearing has been posted to July 1.
