Madhira in Khammam district has reported first coronavirus case today. The migrant along with 16 others has returned to their home from Mumbai on May 14.

Of the 17 migrants, seven people fall sick following which the officials conducted coronavirus tests and one of them tested positive for the virus, said district medical and health official Dr Malathi.
Alerted by the first coronavirus case, the officials carried out the sanitization works in the area. On the other hand, the Mandal-level officials are touring in the villages to bring awareness among the people on coronavirus and the precautionary measures to contain it on the directions of the collector RV Karnan.
Additional collector Snehalatha also asked the people staying in home quarantine to take preventive measures to curb the virus spread.
