Telangana State to honour 30 women achievers
The State government has announced names of 30 women achievers who excelled in their respective fields, who will be honored on Sunday (March 8) at a colourful function organised to commemorate the International Women’s Day at Ravindra Bharathi.
Hyderabad: The State government has announced names of 30 women achievers who excelled in their respective fields, who will be honored on Sunday (March 8) at a colourful function organised to commemorate the International Women's Day at Ravindra Bharathi.
The function is being organised jointly by the Women Development and Child Welfare (WDCW) Department and the Department of Culture.
All 30 awardees were picked up from various fields by the "Celebration Committee", constituted by the government, which was headed by State's Women & Child Welfare Minister, Satyavathi Rathod.
Each awardee will receive Rs 1 lakh cheque and a citation.
The awardees are: Capt Syed Salwa Fatima (Aviation), Mangali Satyavathi (Folk Arts), Vanigipuram Neeraja Devi (Classical Dance), Inampudi Srilaxmi, (Literature), Lakshmi Reddy (Painting), Manjula Kalyan (Swamyam Krushi), Bonda Rama Lila (Mano Vikasa Mallikamba Kendram) (both for service to children with special needs), P Saritha (Women Rights), Sravanthi (Achiever against odds), G Nirmala Reddy (Journalism), Begari Laxmamma (Agriculture), Milkuri Gangavva (Social Media), Dr Manjula Reddy (Science & Research), Pawar Anitha (staff nurse), Sharada (ANM), Punam Kavitha (Asha worker) (all Health Services), D Sandhya Rani, NVL Sowjanya, and Tekam Yamuna Bai (all in the category of Women & Child Development Services), Manisha Saboo (Leadership Corporate World), Usha Rani Manne (Entrepreneurship), Dr Anjali Devi (Medicine) and Dr Aruna Devi (Yoga).
