Tension grips Mandal Praja Parishad president election
Tension gripped the presidential election for Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP), here on Saturday. MPTCs of TRS party picked up the MPP candidate Priyanka, who joined the Congress after winning from the TRS.
Mogudampally: Tension gripped the presidential election for Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP), here on Saturday. MPTCs of TRS party picked up the MPP candidate Priyanka, who joined the Congress after winning from the TRS. They dragged her by her sari to their side, which led to altercation between the two parties. At last, Priyanka was declared MPP winner.
In fact, the election, which was to be held on June 7, was postponed to Saturday. Out of 11 MPTC seats, Congress and TRS bagged five seats each and one seat was won by an independent. The Congress moved strategically and attracted Munnapur TRS MPTC Priyanka and got elected as MPP. Later, congress party demanded an apology from MLA Manik Rao, who allegedly provoked TRS candidates to assault the MPP.
He criticised the police department for not taking any action even though a woman MPP was attacked. Zaheerabad MPP Giridhar, Kohir mandal president Ramalingareddy, Kohir ZPTC G Ramdas, Narsimha Reddy, Narsimhulu and others were present on the occasion.
