Nalgonda: District Central Crime Station (CCS) police and Gurrampodu police nabbed three members who have been stealing gold and silver from women in heavy rush buses.

The arrested were identified as Garadi alias Garika alias Kavitha alias Jyothi (52), a native of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh, Sthipati Manasa alias Radha (35), a native of Nagarigutta village of Pulivendula mandal of Kadapa district and Acchinthala Kalyani (24), a final year B Tech student of Sri Nidhi College.

Producing the arrested before the media during a press conference held at DPO office in Nalgonda, Devarakonda DSP Maheshwar informed that all the three accused women would board the buses with heavy rush and steal the gold and silver ornaments from women passengers and get down the bus. On Thursday, the CCS staff and Gurrampodu police nabbed the gang when they were found moving suspiciously in a car during vehicle checking at Laxmidevigudem bus stop. During the interrogation they confessed to their crimes done under Gurrampodu, Nalgonda One Town, Two Town and Rural police stations. Police recovered assets worth of Rs 15 lakh from the accused. DSP Maheshwar appreciated CCS CI Bala Swamy team and Gurrampodu SI Kranthi Kumar team for nabbing the robbery gang.
