The election of municipal chairman post in Nereducherla has been taken as prestigious by the ruling party and Congress. While the TRS had plans to hoist the party flag in Congress' ruling area and the Congress tried to oppose it. However, TRS emerged victorious in the election.
It also turned interesting when the returning officer rejected the vote of KVP Ramachandra Rao who voted as ex-officio member from Nereducherla. The Congress leaders protested and posted the matter to the Election Commission. The EC went through the issue and suspended the orders issued by the municipal commissioner rejecting the vote of Ramachandra Rao.
Earlier, Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy lashed out that the ruling party is trying to grab the seat illegally. He staged a protest along with KVP Ramachandra Rao on road. The duo was shifted to the police station.
