TRS sweeps PACS polls, wins 90% societies
Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supported candidates have won more than 90 per cent of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) elections which were held on Saturday.
Hyderabad: Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supported candidates have won more than 90 per cent of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) elections which were held on Saturday.
The party backed candidates have won in over 90 per cent of the 904 societies and also won 100 per cent District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) and District Cooperative Marketing Society (DCMS) posts. The TRS supported candidates have won 11,000 director posts.
TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao thanked the farmers for giving 'resounding victory' to the TRS. In his tweet, KTR said, "Heartfelt thanks to the farmers of Telangana for giving yet another resounding victory to TRS party candidates in the primary agriculture cooperative societies' election today.
More than 90 per cent societies and 100 per cent DCCB/DCMS posts have won by the TRS. Telangana is with KCR."
There are 904 primary agricultural cooperative societies went for elections. As many as 157 societies consisting of 2,017 Territorial Constituencies (TCs) were declared as unanimously elected. In the remaining 747 PACS, 3,388 TCs have been unanimously elected. Elections to 6,248 territorial constituencies were held on Saturday.
According to the officials, nearly 9,11,599 voters exercised their voting right and the election to managing committees of the PACS in the State have been completed peacefully.
