Telangana needs four decades to clear loans raised by TRS government: Laxman
BJP State president Dr K Laxman alleged that it would take four decades to clear the loans raised by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the last six years and to streamline Telangana State’s sagging economy.
Hyderabad: BJP State president Dr K Laxman alleged that it would take four decades to clear the loans raised by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the last six years and to streamline Telangana State's sagging economy.
Addressing the media here on Saturday, the State BJP chief accused Chandrashekar Rao of ignoring the future of people by adopting faulty economic policies.
He stated that Telangana was a surplus State at the time of its formation. Now, it is facing revenue-deficit, he added. Laxman said the TRS chief was sending feelers to make his son and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao as the next Chief Minister of the State.
"The sole agenda of the Chief Minister is to divert people's attention from his government failures in the wake of ensuing municipal elections.
Also, the TRS chief has realised that his party has no chance to retain power after the next State Assembly elections because of the inefficient governance," he said.
The BJP leader dismissed the tall claims of the TRS that it took up development and cared for the welfare of the people. Laxman said the TRS utterly failed to keep its word of providing one lakh government jobs to youth after coming to the power.
So far, the TRS government could only provide 28,000 jobs in the last six years. Out of which, 10,000 alone are constable posts, he said. Laxman said his party would go to the people with the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government's development and welfare schemes.
He claimed that people are supporting the courageous and historic decisions taken by the Modi government at the Centre.
Reacting on municipal elections, the BJP chief alleged that the TRS government and the State Election Commission (SEC) were in a hurry to conduct the municipal elections without giving time for political parties to highlight faulty voter lists and other irregularities.
He found fault with the TRS government in appointing IAS officer Somesh Kumar as Chief Secretary without considering the seniority of Telangana cadre officers.
Floor leader in the Legislative Council N Ramchander Rao, official spokesperson N V Subhash, general secretary Chinta Sambamurthy, media-in charge Sudhakar Sharma and other leaders were present.
