Unemployment rate doubled in Telangana under TRS rule: Uttam
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & Nalgonda MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the unemployment rate has doubled ever since TRS party came to power in Telangana State in 2014.
Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President & Nalgonda MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the unemployment rate has doubled ever since TRS party came to power in Telangana State in 2014.
In a live interaction on social media platform Facebook on Saturday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that nearly 12 lakh youth in Telangana were jobless in 2014. However, under five years of TRS regime, the number of educated unemployed youth has doubled to about 24 lakh now, he said while quoting official figures. He alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has completely neglected the problem of unemployment which worsened the situation. He said unemployment was one of the major issues in the statehood movement. He said KCR had promised to provide one job for each family. However, he said that the promise remained unfulfilled and instead, lakhs of existing jobs were lost under the TRS regime.
Uttam Kumar Reddy claimed that he had identified the problem of unemployment long back and ensured that local youth get jobs in cement and other factories in Huzurnagar. He promised that he would establish a Skill Development Centre of international standards in Huzurnagar to impart training to local youth. He said the proposed Centre would be established in the next five years from his funds as Member of Parliament. He said that the Centre would open up new employment opportunities for the local youth of Huzurnagar.
The TPCC Chief also promised that a Sports Stadium would be established in Huzurnagar to promote sports activities among youth. The stadium will also have a gymnasium and swimming pool. He said national-level Kabaddi competitions would also be organised in Huzurnagar soon.
Uttam Kumar Reddy, who was wearing a sports track, recalled that he himself was a good sportsman which motivated him to join the Indian Armed Forces where he served as the fighter pilot of Indian Air Force. He promised to take all measures to promote sports in Huzurnagar.
Uttam Kumar Reddy ridiculed the promises being made by TRS leaders of bringing development in Huzurnagar if TRS wins the seats. He said those promises and claims of development were purely bogus. He pointed out that several TRS MLAs went on record in the Assembly complaining of lack of funds to develop their constituencies. Contrary to this, he said more development was witnessed in constituencies represented by opposition MLAs. He said Huzurnagar and Kodad were live examples of development. He said opposition MLAs fight with the government to get more funds, projects and schemes for their constituencies. He accused the TRS leaders of spreading wrong notions and narratives to mislead voters.
The Nalgonda MP said that the Congress leaders and workers were conducting door to door campaign in Huzurnagar on 12th and 13th October (Saturday & Sunday) in favour of Congress candidate Padmavathi Reddy. He expressed confidence that the Congress party would win the Huzurnagar seat with a huge majority.
