Tandur: Mushrooming of unrecognised private schools, which do not have proper permissions have become a cause for concern. Especially, during the admission season, the unrecognised schools are attracting parents with colourful campaigns and offers.

They visit door-to-door and offer exciting career for the children. This kind of schools are coming up in every nook and corner of the town. Parents are not in a position to check the authenticity of the school and often fall prey to them.

According to regulations, every new school must apply for permission to District Education Officer and Mandal Education Officer. They visit the premises of the school and sanction permission if it is up to the standards.

They check the permission of the building, playground, and other amenities and safety measures. But several new schools are flouting the rules and started admitting the students. One such school has allegedly come up at old town and continuing its business without proper permissions.

It is also alleged that officials turned blind eye even though they are aware of it. When contacted about the issue, MEO Venkataiah admitted that the school has no permission. "Now I'm busy with other official assignment. We take necessary action against the school," he assured. Responsible citizens of the town appeal authorities to contain such malpractice by the authorised schools.
