Vattem oustees plea to CM for equitable compensation in Nagarkurnool
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who visited Venkatadri reservoir on Thursday at Vattem village in Bijinepally mandal of Nagarkurnool district, directed the officials to speed up the works of the reservoir and complete it by March next.

Later, the Vattem Reservoir Mumpu Baditula Porata Samithi leaders submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister and demanded that they be given compensation for their lands on the same lines as of Mallanna Sagar oustees in Medak district.
In fact, earlier, the land losers under Vattem Venkatadri reservoir had taken part in agitations and dharnas demanding equitable compensation for the lands they lost under the reservoir. On Thursday, when the Chief Minister came to Vattem to take stock of the construction works and reviewed the status of the reservoir with the irrigation officials concerned, the oustees took the opportunity to bring their problems and issues to the Chief Minister's notice and submitted a memorandum.
To this, the Chief Minister had agreed to resolve their problems very soon and promised to provide justice to the land losers under the project. The Chief Minister, during his review with the officials, inspected the site map and enquired the status of works going on at the site. He directed them to speed up works and ensure everything is completed in a targeted time frame.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, Excise Minister Srinvias Goud, Nagarkurnool ZP Chairman Padmavathi, MPP Ramulu, MLC Kuchukurla Damodar Reddy and MLA Nagarkurnool Marri Janardhan Reddy and District Collector Sridhar.
