VHP TS wing plans to raise Rs150 cr for Ayodhya temple

Hyderabad: The campaign for donations from people for the construction of Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya will be held from January 20 to February 10. According to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Telangana wing, the campaign would be taken up as part of the country-wide programme by Sri Rama Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust (SRJBTKT).

The VHP organised a meeting with the heads of different Mutts and Hindu institutions here on Tuesday where it has been decided that Swamijis would takeout padayatras in villages and encourage people to donate as per their wish for the construction of Lord Ram temple at Ayodhya.

The State convener of Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Mandir Nirman Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan (SRJMNNSA), Bandari Ramesh said the nationwide campaign was intended to go to 4 lakh villages and to meet 11 crore households. As part of this, in Telangana, 9,000 villages would be visited to reach out to more than 3 crore people and 40 lakh households.

"For this, more than 7,000 volunteers under 33 district-level committees and 50,000 more volunteers under 350 mandal-level committees have been formed. The training for them had already been completed and the formation of village-level committees will be completed between January 5 and 15," he added.

The volunteers would issue coupons of Rs 10, Rs 100 and Rs 1,000 for the contributions made and the donations above Rs 2,000 would be issued receipts. All the donations would be exempted under Section 80 (G) of Income Tax, Ramesh informed.

He said for the smooth implementation of the programme, a State-level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of V Vidyasagar and a state-level Margadarshaka Mandal with heads of different Mutts and Dharmacharyas has been formed, he said.

They will visit and meet people across the State to encourage them to contribute their might for the construction of the temple at Ayodhya.He said, "A tentative target to collect Rs 150 crore from Telangana for the temple construction has been proposed." Heads of several Mutts and VHP leaders attended the meeting.
