Vikarabad: Telangana Girijana Sangham's (TGS) first maha sabha was held at its office in Vikarabad on Sunday. The association's district president Srinivas, secretary Venkat Ramulu and honorary president Vinay Kumar Naik said the second mahasabha will be held in Khammam on March 2. They called upon the community members to take part in large numbers and make it a grand success. "Girijan thandas should be identified as revenue panchayats. Special funds should be allocated," they urged government.

They demanded pattas for lands being cultivated by tribals. "STS study circle should be setup. Free electricity up to 500 units should be given for household purpose," they demanded the government. The other demands include burial ground, backlog posts and promotions for employees.

Vice president Paursuram Manik Naik, joint secretaries Anil, vinod, Raju, Pratap, Suresh, treasurer Ram Das, leaders Lakshman Naik Balya, Anil, KVPS district secretary Mahipal, CITU leader Mallesh and others were present.
