Villagers protest over construction blasts
Villagers on Wednesday staged a rasta roko, demanding release of the people who were taken into custody by the police. According to the protesters, farmers who incurred losses due to the blasts during the construction of Talelma Renuka Yellamma lift irrigation project, approached the High Court.

As per the directives of High Court, blasts should be conducted under the supervision of Advocate Commission, they said. But the blasts are going unabated against the court's directive, they alleged. "Several houses developed cracks and are in precarious condition.
No action has been taken despite several complaints lodged with the officials," they said. Police acted rudely and filed cases against three persons, when we tried to stop the blasts, the protesting villagers said.
Khadirabad former sarpanch Ramesh Joshi, advocates Sangameshwar, Chanti Prabhu, former sarpanch of Saipet, Veeranna, Vishnu, Sharanappa and others were present.
